[thumb:100:r]The Mayor has attended many of our Gospel Sings at the Park and often has said that if there was anything he could do for us to give him a call. So we took him up on his offer. He returned the call this morning.
We explained about the bus and the police officers visit the other day. He told us that he had been getting a lot of “flack” about the bus being parked here. But he figured we had outgrown our van. He had already checked to be sure the sidewalk was clear, which it was. The police officers had not come because he sent them. Someone else had.
I told the Mayor that we knew the ordinance would require us to move the bus back another 20 feet but because of the weather we really couldn’t do any cement work. But that we would do our best to comply; we just needed a little time.
He told us to take the time we need and if anyone else came up here and complained to tell them to go see him.
And here’s another bonus part of the conversation: He said some people were also complaining about the big signs we put up for the Gospel Sing. He asked them if they had ever gone over to the park to see what we do there, that we are out there trying to save souls.
Thank you Mayor Jim Brewster for your support!
