The Well Ministries

For the June issue we decided to increase the amount due to the fact that the last month disappeared so quickly. We printed 2000 and within two weeks they were all gone. Also in June the Daily News, our local newspaper, contacted me and did a story about this booklet. It ran on June 19, 1999 and was a half page story with a picture! Again in July we printed 2,000 copies with the same results of being gone in less than two weeks. So for August we increased the amount to 4,000 as we had a few events that month we could distribute more at. A local church took 500 for a conference and we were going to have a booth at the International Village, an annual ethnic festival. We distributed 1,500 copies there. Also in July we received our first letter stating the person had made a first time commitment to the Lord!

In September we applied for the bulk mail permit as our individual mailing list increased to 200+. This allowed us to send the booklets out at 23.5¢ each instead of the 55¢ it had been costing. We also started the process of setting up a corporation that we could become an official non-profit organization.

In October, November and December we printed 5,000 copies each month. In January and February the following year we printed 4,000 copies since Three Rivers didn’t have many concerts.

That January, after several complications with picking a name for the corporation and those choices already being used, we finally registered the name “The Well Ministries, Inc.” for the non-profit organization. Also in January, Cornerstone TV, our local Christian TV station, called me to schedule an appearance on February 23 on “Getting Together” to be interviewed about the publication.

It is amazing for me to think where I was just one year before I wrote this and how far I have come even now. To think that I thought I was too far from God to come back yet He has taken me even further than I could ever have imagined.

Don’t be afraid, Prodigal Child. Run to Him – don’t walk and don’t wait – for He is waiting for you. There is nothing you have done that He doesn’t already know and nothing He cannot forgive. Who knows, maybe YOU will birth a new ministry in the process.
